Zero Waste Partnerships Program

Together, we have the chance to make Philadelphia a Zero Waste city by 2035. Zero Waste starts with one person, one community, and one city coming together for a Zero Waste and litter-free future. Whether you’re a Philadelphia resident, nonprofit, business, or institution, you can take actions to reduce your waste and play a part in advancing Philadelphia toward its Zero Waste goal. Read on to learn about how you can get involved and inspire others to help, too!

Residents

Are you a Philadelphia resident? Join the city’s Zero Waste movement by becoming a Philacycler! Philacycle is an innovative program that allows residents to help out the community and to earn all sorts of great rewards when they do. From eliminating litter on our streets to learning more about sustainable living online to volunteering at a variety of local events, Philacycle rewards you for taking Zero Waste actions and engaging your friends, family, and neighbors to help make the positive impact we’d all like to see in our city.

Businesses & Institutions

The Zero Waste Partnerships Program will support local businesses, industry associations, and institutions in their efforts to reduce waste, increase recycling and composting, adopt green purchasing practices, and report on their progress. A recognition program is being developed that will highlight partners for best practices across industries, sectors, and communities. This program is currently in development. Please check back with us soon and join our email list for updates.

Nonprofits & Community Organizations

Reaching Philadelphia’s Zero Waste goal will not be possible without engaging our communities in Zero Waste and litter reduction. Zero Waste and Litter Community Grants will be available to provide financial assistance for local nonprofits and community organizations to implement eligible initiatives designed to promote Zero Waste and litter reduction in communities. This program is currently in development. Please check back with us soon and join our email list for updates.
